HOW ARE AGE SPOTS AND BROWN SPOTS TREATED?
At our 8,000+ sq. ft. facility, we have brand new, state-of-the-art lasers and devices that can target age spots and brown spots, depending on each patient’s skin type.

The most popular and effective lasers and devices at Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania include:

  • Fraxel® Dual
  • Clear + Brilliant® Touch
  • PicoPlus®

Our specialized selection of lasers allows our board-certified dermatologists to customize each treatment to the exact needs of each patient. It also enables us to treat all skin colors, including Asian and darker skin.

WILL MY LASER TREATMENTS HURT?
Laser treatments shouldn’t feel overly painful. In fact, most patients report that the discomfort feels akin to a rubber band snapping against the skin. To ensure a comfortable experience, a steady stream of cool air can accompany each laser treatment for brown spots and age spots.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
Many patients see results soon after their first treatment, but the tone of your skin should greatly improve once the potential side effects diminish. Patients may initially see a temporary darkening of the lesions before they begin to fade in color. Temporary side effects of laser treatment include:

  • Redness
  • Peeling
  • Swelling
  • Discomfort

These side effects are typically mild and should subside within 1-2 weeks of treatment, depending on the type of laser used. Most patients are able to carry on their normal activities during the initial healing process.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER FROM LASER TREATMENT?
Although you may experience mild redness and swelling of the treated area, most of our patients resume their normal activities immediately following laser treatment of age spots and brown spots. It’s essential to stay out of direct sunlight during your recovery period to prevent any complications.
