Dr. Sahagian serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UC San Diego (UCSD). He has been active with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and attends the MDA neuropathology case conference at Rady Children's Hospital regularly.
Dr. Sahagian acted as Program Chairman of the San Diego Neurologic Society and has represented the Association of California Neurologists as a delegate to the California Medical Association and the American Medical Association (AMA). He remains active in the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) as the California State Liaison.
Dr. Sahagian has earned the San Diego Top Doctor award, Best Doctor award and The Patients' Choice Award.

Dr. Sahagian graduated from Columbia University with a B.S in Chemical Engineering. He completed his M.D. at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York with special distinction for research in Cardiovascular Medicine. After a medical internship at the Winthrop University Hospital SUNY School of Medicine, he completed his neurology residency in 1999 at UCSD where he was given the honor of Chief Resident.
