Education & Training

Dr. Affel received her undergraduate degree from Tufts University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a minor in Women’s Studies. She studied abroad at Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

Dr. Affel received her medical degree in 2009 from the MD/MPH program at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, and completed residency in 2012 at the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency based at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Upon graduation, she joined the Lynn Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center north of Boston, where she worked until 2017. During her time there, she practiced full spectrum family medicine, including Labor & Delivery at North Shore Medical center from 2013 to 2015.
