Dr. Khan has in-depth experience in both noninvasive and interventional cardiology.
His expertise in peripheral vascular disease includes minimally invasive surgical treatment of carotid artery stenosis, peripheral vascular disease, and abdominal aortic aneurysm endovascular treatment. On the noninvasive side, he also has state-of-the-art equipment in his office which makes it possible to do a comprehensive cardiac evaluation under one roof. Other services offered in the office include echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart), stress tests, EKG, and pacemaker analysis.

M. Akram Khan, MD, MBA, FACC, FSCAI is a board-certified cardiologist providing care to patients in the McKinney Texas area at the Cardiac Center of Texas.
On the interventional cardiology front, Dr. Kahn has brought new technology, techniques, and new devices to his practice to enhance service to his patients. Of note, he was the first cardiologist in Collin County to deploy a drug-eluting stent in 2003. He is well-equipped and skilled in all kinds of coronary and peripheral intervention.
In 2006 Dr. Khan began to offer Cardiac Computed Tomography (cardiac CT). This revolutionary technology is able to perform angiography of the heart which is totally non-invasive and office based. This diagnostic technology also enables the cardioglist to perform heart scans and screen for heart attack and the early detection of Coronary Artery Disease.
Dr. Khan is actively involved in clinical research and has been conducting research in his practice and at North Dallas Research Associates.
