I am an American Board of Surgery certified general surgeon with over 8 years of cummulative surgical experience, excelling in both open and minimally invasive techniques oferring both outpatient and inpatient services. I have expertise in a broad range of surgical interventions for breast disease, abdominal wall and groin hernias, gastrointestinal(stomach, intestine) diseases, skin and soft tissue masses, thyroid lesions, anorectal disorders, long term intravenous access, acute care/emergency surgical diseases, endoscopic screening and diagnostic procedures, enteral feeding access and minor in-office procedures.
I have been priviledged to serve successfuly in leadership roles as Chief of Department of Surgery and subsequently, Chief of Medical Staff at Clinch Valley Medical Center. I am well-versed in driving multidisciplinary team collaboration, enhancing operating room efficiency, ensuring compliance with set industry standards and providing equitable care to all patients.

I strive to ensure that my patients are comfortable speaking honestly with me about their medical problems and concerns, ensuring that our communication is equally understood and we can come to a mutual conclusion on the best course of treatment for the presenting problem. I work to try to assist and advocate for patients needs when necessary to get the best solution for patients, optimize patient outcomes and improve access to the care that they need in a timely fashion whenever possible.

If you have laparoscopic abdominal surgery, make sure to have these two things availabloe at home for the initial popst operative days: a recliner/lots of pillows and some gas X!. The recliner or lots of pillows will make it easier for you to get up from bed and go to the bathroom as opposed to getting up from laying completely flat. The gas X will help you with gas pains!
