About Dr. James Kiely, MD

Dr. James Kiely, MD is a board-certified Atlanta neurologist providing care to patients at Atlanta Neurology.

He is board-certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology.  

Dr. Kiely runs the Epilepsy Clinic and supervises inpatient monitoring for epilepsy at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta.  He is also the Medical Director of the Neurophysiology Lab at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital.  Dr. Kiely is a member of the American Epilepsy Society and a member of the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia.  

For the last 3 years, he has been listed in the national publication, Guide to Top Physicians.

Education & Training

Dr. Kiely received his M.D. in 1994 from Emory University.  He received his Ph.D. from the Emory Department of Pharmacology for his doctorate thesis on nervous system control of blood pressure. 

He received Fellowship training in Epilepsy and Intensive Monitoring at the University of Virginia.  During his tenure he was the recipient of national awards for epilepsy research.
