Education & Training

Dr. Katherine Shew grew up in central North Carolina and graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Math. She continued her studies at Wake Forest University as a Carswell Scholar where she earned Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa Honors. 

Dr. Shew received an Aesculapian Scholarship to attend Virginia Commonwealth University for medical school from which she graduated with AOA honors. She then completed her dermatology residency training in Richmond, VA.
