John (Jay) Wofford, MD is board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist providing care to patients in the Plano and Flower Mound area.

Dr. Wofford’s interest in dermatology began when he was in high school and shadowed a family friend at his dermatology practice. “The enjoyment and fulfillment that he received from his work was immediately and strikingly apparent, and that impression stuck with me throughout college and medical school,” Dr. Wofford says.

Education & Training

Dr. Wofford grew up in Lubbock, Texas and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas Tech University. He received his medical degree (MD) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine.

He completed his internal medicine internship at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas prior to completing a Dermatology residency training program at Baylor University Medical Center. He completed an additional Dermatopathology Fellowship at ProPath.

Our growing staff includes Board-Certified Dermatologists, advanced Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeons, on-site Fellowship-Trained Dermatopathologists, Certified Physician Assistants, and Licensed Aestheticans.

Our dermatology services include Medical Dermatology, such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and vitiligo, and Dermatologic Surgery, including Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

Cosmetic Dermatology 
Our new office space features a dedicated Cosmetic Dermatology space where patients can enjoy a wide variety of the newest and safest procedures. Using a health and wellness philosophy, individualized treatment plans are devised based on current trends in the field that our physicians feel are most supported by their colleagues and research.

Our Cosmetic Treatments include Botox, fillers and laser, allergy testing, hair loss treatment, light treatments for skin disorders, and much more!

U.S. Dermatology Partners Plano is one of the few practices in the Metroplex to offer a large phototherapy area for light treatments for vitiligo, psoriasis, eczema, and other specific conditions. This allows patients quick access during an expanded choice of time periods in a given day, and assistance with insurance approvals.
