About Dr. Roger Sica, DO

Dr. Sica welcomes his former Derm One patients and is accepting new patients at Summit Plastic Surgery & Dermatology. He is known for his compassionate and caring nature. “Every patient deserves an attentive physician that hears their concerns. And one who is able to discuss in laymen’s terms, the diagnosis and options for treatment. It’s important that my patients understand how Mohs works to give them the highest cure rate and best cosmetic result,” says Dr. Sica.

With well over 1000 cases performed annually, Dr. Sica is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Society of Mohs Surgery. He is a graduate of UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine and NOVA Southeastern University where he served as chief resident at Largo Medical Center. Dr. Sica holds a Bachelor of Science from Bucknell University where he graduated Cum Laude. He is the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award given by Vitals.com. He has been practicing in the Wilmington, Southport, and Burgaw area since 2010.

Dr. Sica specializes in skin cancer detection, treatment, and removal using the Mohs technique. During Mohs surgery, thin layers of cancer-containing skin are progressively removed and examined under a microscope until only cancer-free tissue remains.
