Shailesh Asaikar, MD is a board-certified pediatric neurologist providing care to children and adolescents in the Sacramento area at Child and Adolescent Neurology Consultants.

Dr. Asaikar attends weekly grand rounds at UC David (UCD) where he teaches medical and neurology residents. He has published numerous medical articles and given lectures on a wide range of topics, including headache management in children, epilepsy in the handicapped, autism, IV drug therapy for seizures, neurological effects of lupus, and ADHD. Dr. Asaikar also participate in clinical research trials of migraine headache, epilepsy and Tourette’s Syndrome.

In 2008, Dr. Asaikar was named “Best Doctor” by the readers of the Sacramento News & Review.

Education & Training

Dr. Asaikar earned his medical degree at the University of Bombay in India. He then completed his pediatric residency at Lincoln Hospital, an affiliate of New York Medical College in the Bronx, before completing a fellowship in neurology at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Asaikar was appointed Assistant Professor of Neurology at the State University of New York (SUNY) Brooklyn and served as the Consultant Neurologist at Long Island College Hospital and the Lamm Developmental Institute.
