About Dr. Albert Hartel, MD
After spending a year practicing as a hospitalist in Canandaigua (which he found extremely difficult to leave), Dr. Hartel pursued further training in both pediatric and adult Allergy and Immunology at the University of South Florida. While there, he worked on multiple immune deficiency research projects, served on the fellowship committee, was selected as a mentor to medical students and residents, and was awarded a USF superior presentation award for his research work.
After one too many category 4 hurricanes, Dr. Hartel decided to come back home to Rochester to be near family, and joined AAIR in 2006 and has been appointed as Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Rochester, through which he has been active in training the medical residents and fellows.
