About Dr. Bernard Recht, MD

Dr. Recht was born and raised in the foggy Sunset District of San Francisco, California, where he attended Lowell High School. He graduated with a degree in Bacteriology and Immunology from U.C. Berkeley, and completed a Ph.D. degree in Immunochemistry from Mt Sinai – CUNY, while completing his research at NYU in New York City. Dr. Recht received his medical training at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and did his internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California. A residency and a research fellowship in dermatology were done at Stanford University.

Bernard Recht, MD, Ph.D. is Board Certified in Dermatology. He is on the staff of El Camino Hospital, is a Clinical Instructor at the Palo Alto Veteran’s Hospital, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Stanford University Medical Center.

Sunnyvale Dermatology was founded by Dr. Recht in 1987, and in 2008 moved to its current location on Knickerbocker Drive. This clinic will now merge into CSI and become the premier Sunnyvale location.
