About Dr. John Binhlam, MD
Dr.Binhlam specializes in the diagnoses and treatment of a wide variety of skin conditions including skin cancer, rash, actinic keratosis, psoriasis, acne vulgaris, acne rosacea, rosacea, nail diseases, as well as excision and skin biopsy. In addition, he also specializes in laser surgery.
Dr. Binhlam received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Computer Science and Mathematics. He earned his medical degree from University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Binhlam later completed his Internal Medicine residency at Indiana University before returning to Vanderbilt to pursue his subspecialty residency in Medical and Surgical Dermatology.
Dr. Binhlam is an active mentor and educator of medical students, residents, and other physicians. He has served in various societal leadership positions; most notably, as past-President of the Nashville Dermatology Society, the Tennessee Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the national American Society of Mohs Surgery. As a strong advocate for patient health and rights, he regularly participates in lobbying efforts on behalf of the American Academy of Dermatology Association and the One Voice Against Cancer Coalition.
