She has taught at the Harvard Medical School Department of Dermatology, and is a lecturer on complex reconstruction techniques after Mohs surgery.

Following her Dermatology residency, Dr. Butler completed a fellowship in cutaneous oncology, Mohs micrographic, and reconstructive surgery with the Harvard Medical School Department of Dermatology at the Lahey Medical Center.
