Dr. DeFranco completed his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from The University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City in 2000.
After medical school, Dr. DeFranco completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Upon completing his residency, Dr. DeFranco performed immunology research at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, and has presented his work at the 12th International Congress of Immunology in Montreal in 2004.
He was the recipient of the First Place Prize for research by the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) in 2005. Dr. DeFranco is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
