About Dr. Winona Wong, MD
Dr. Wong is Board Certified to the highest national standards by the American Board of Dermatology. She was born and raised in Hawaii and after graduating from Punahou, left the islands for her college and graduate educations. For the 8 years prior to returning to Hawaii she has worked in private practice at Mystic Valley Dermatology in Medford, MA. She and her husband chose to return to the islands to raise their daughter with the unique beauty, culture, people and climate that make Hawaii no ka oi. She chose to open her solo Honolulu dermatology practice with the name 'Aloha Dermatology' to reflect her approach to patient care.
Education:
M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. (M.D./Ph.D. program) December 1993.
Ph.D. in Cellular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. (M.D./Ph.D program) in 1991. As part of her thesis she discovered the second form of Prostaglandin Synthase now known as 'COX-2'.
Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University, Medford, MA. 1985., summa cum laude with special honors.
