About Dr. Yong Tsai, MD

Dr. Yong Tsai, MD, MHS is a board-certified Allergist and is the founder and main provider at Arthritis, Autoimmune & Allergy, LLC in Daytona Beach, FL.

Since 1993, Dr. Tsai has devoted himself to his patients in Volusia and Flagler Counties, Florida.  Dr. Tsai has been very active in clinical research, as Principal Investigator in a multitude of clinical trials and as Medical Director at International Medical Research.  Since 2001, Dr. Tsai has been a medical columnist for the Daytona Beach News Journal.  He also authored two books: Arthritis, Autoimmune Disorders & Chronic Pain in 2005, and Osteoarthritis, Soft Tissue Rheumatism, & Osteoporosis in 2020.

Education & Training

Dr. Tsai is a native of Taiwan, received his medical degree from the China Medical College, Taiwan, in 1981.  In 1983, he attended The John Hopkins University Medical School in Baltimore, Maryland, and completed a Master’s Degree of Health Science in Immunology, and a research fellowship in Allergy and Immunology.

He completed his residency at Wayne State University from 1986 to 1989 and he returned to John Hopkins for a Clinical Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology from 1989 to 1991.

The University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor became his next endeavor where he completed a clinical fellowship in both Rheumatology and Geriatric Medicine from 1991 to 1993.  During his last year at U of M, he also lectured in Internal Medicine.
