About Charity Morris, PAC

An introduction from Dr. Jacobs about Charity Morris, PA-C

I would like you to meet my Physician Assistant, Charity Morris, PAC. Charity was born and raised in Los Angeles, and went on to graduate from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with her Bachelor’s Degree, and Loma Linda University with her Master of Physician Assistant degree. Charity is a Certified PA and a member of the California Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. One thing you should know about Charity is that she is not only a general Physician Assistant; she is a Dermatology Specialty Trained Physician Assistant.

I first met Charity back in 2008 when she was a Loma Linda University student finishing her Master of Physician Assistant degree. I am a teacher for Loma Linda University, and Charity spent six weeks with me as a Loma Linda student learning basic clinical dermatology. All I will tell you is that I have taught many medical students, PA students, and residents, I can’t even count the number, and Charity was the best PA student I had ever had, even to this day. So, I asked Charity to work at our office. Thankfully, she said, “Yes.” And, she’s been a blessing for our patients ever since.

You should know that Charity did not go out right away and work in dermatology on her own. She first completed a one-year dermatology specialty internship with me where she studied dermatology side by side with me in our clinic. In this way, I was able to personally teach her many important lessons in clinical dermatology. And still, even now, Charity and I continue to see patients together as a team.

When you see Charity, you will find her to have a listening ear, a very caring and compassionate heart, and plus, she is a highly educated Dermatology Specialty Trained Physician Assistant who can help you with all your basic dermatology needs. Also, please remember, Charity and I work together as a team. With this in mind, should you ever have an unanswered question, simply ask Charity to connect to me. When you see Charity, you always have direct access to me. Together, Charity and I can answer your questions.

Now, a word from Charity: Hello. I grew up near downtown in the big city of Los Angeles. My mother was a very devoted RN at White Memorial, and from her, I learned how to care for people. I watched her kind ways. It was just her example, watching her and how she treated me. I also watched how others felt when they were around her. She gave me her passion for helping people. And thus, I became a PA, and my sister became a RN. Our jobs are a reflection of the way we were raised.

And, what better way to show kindness than when someone is sick and suffering? Because dermatology is mostly a visual based specialty, I can help a patient learn what to look for as he or she learns how to care for his or her own skin condition. Because the skin grows at a slow rate, sometimes improvement is slow. But many times, improvement can be quick, right before their very eyes. For example, Atopic Dermatitis in babies. This is a dry and sensitive condition that requires careful consistent skin barrier care. The key is correct lipid based moisturization. You know, I get really happy when I can explain the basics to the parents: A- Avoid allergic items, B- Bathe to restore moisture, and C- Cover to protect moisture, and the baby gets better!

At UCLA, I majored in Sociology, so I understand how society can shape each individual person. As a result, I have learned just how important it is to care for each patient as a special unique individual, and not just as a disease or object or statistic. Sit down and share with me all your skin problems. I will help you find the best answers to your questions. People need to talk with people who care. Well, if we ever meet in the office, I hope to make your visit a comfortable healing time, full of helpful derm care, and at ease when you leave our office. I hope to see you soon!

Charity Morris, PAC.
