She graduated from the University of New Brunswick, Bowman Gray School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest University and the University of Nebraska with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Dena has worked as a PA since 1997 and in dermatology since 2004. She is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
