About Dr. Cesar Abreu, MD


Dr. Abreu opened the doors to Bayside Urology in 1986. Since then, Dr. Abreu and the clinical staff of Bayside Urology have been committed to providing the best urological care in the greater Tampa Bay area, serving patients in Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco Counties. 

Dr. Abreu has earned tremendous respect from his staff, peers, and patients over the years.  Bayside Urology’s pursuit of excellence in well over twenty years is constantly reflected in the professionalism and high standards held by the office team. 

Through the years in the Clearwater area, Dr. Abreu has been elected in various hospitals to serve as Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff, and Medical Executive of the Medical Staff.  Dr. Abreu’s expertise and personal accomplishments were recognized on June 18th, 2005, when he was granted a Fellowship to the International College of Surgeons.

Education & Training

Dr. Abreu graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science from Ursinus College and then completed his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, located in Guadalajara, Mexico.  After graduating from the Autonoma, Dr. Abreu completed an internship at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Abreu then completed his general surgery residency at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia.  He then went on to complete his urology residency training from 1983-1986 at the University of Maryland where he served as Chief Resident of the Urological Residency Program.
