Education & Training
Dr. David Tapke received his Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University, where he graduated with cum laude honors. Before medical school, he developed an interest in public health after working as an AmeriCorps volunteer performing asthma education in the South Bronx of New York City. He attended Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where he participated in a dual degree program to simultaneous earn his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees.
Dr. Tapke stayed in Chicago for a pediatrics residency at Rush University Medical Center before entering a combined adult and pediatric fellowship in allergy and immunology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH.

Cincinnati Allergy and Asthma Center has been servicing families in the Tri-state since 1960. CAAC was founded by Joseph E Ghory, M.D., and has been continued by his daughters, Ann C. Ghory, M.D. and Patricia K. Ghory, M.D. We anticipate the arrival of the third generation, our sons, Gordon E. Myers M.D., and David E. Tapke, M.D. in the summer of 2019.
Our father was the first board certified Pediatric Allergist in the Tri-state in 1960. He established the Allergy Fellowship program and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
The practice has grown from one office in East Walnut Hills to now four convenient offices in Hyde Park, Anderson, Mason, and Western Hills.
Cincinnati Allergy and Asthma Center specializes in treating nasal and eye allergies, asthma, food allergies, skin allergies, drug and venom sensitivities, and immune disorders.
We have specially trained Nurse Practitioners and a Physician Assistant who are experts in our field.
