About Dr. Joseph Payne, MD
Dr. Payne maintains two board certifications. He is dual certified in both Dermatology as well as Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery (Mohs) by the American Board of Dermatology. He routinely performs clinical research within the areas of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Dr. Payne is also active in the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Contact Dermatitis Society.

Before joining Dermatology Associates of Atlanta in 2007, Dr. Joseph Payne received his Doctorate of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine and completed his residency in dermatology at the George Washington University Hospital. In 2001, Dr. Payne joined the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander and serving as the Department Head of Dermatology at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. He is now a partner at Dermatology Associates of Atlanta.
