About Dr. Kathleen Herne, MD
Dr. Kathleen Herne is a board certified dermatologist and one of only 11 fellowship trained Mohs surgeons in Palm Beach County. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas and raised in Montana and Texas and is especially proud of her Native American (Mohawk) heritage. She completed her undergraduate studies in Texas and graduated with honors from the University of Dallas, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Following her undergraduate studies, Kathleen went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center.
Dr. Herne completed a one-year internship in Internal Medicine at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. She then returned to Texas and completed a two-year clinical research fellowship in Dermatology and Virology at the University of Texas at Galveston. She completed her residency in Dermatology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where she served as Chief Resident. Following her residency, she completed a comprehensive fellowship in Dermatologic Surgery at the University of California - San Francisco, where she gained extensive knowledge in Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstruction, laser and cosmetic procedures. She is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery and has performed more than 10,000 cases of Mohs surgery.
