About Dr. Matthew Mahlberg, MD

Matthew J. Mahlberg, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist  and Mohs surgeon providing care to patients in the Denver area.

Dr. Mahlberg recently served as President of the Colorado Dermatologic Society and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Matthew J. Mahlberg is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery.  He has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters in the areas of cutaneous oncology, reconstructive surgery, and aesthetic medicine. His work in the field of reconstructive surgery has been recognized by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and he was the recipient of a national award for his research in reconstructive surgery. 

Dr. Mahlberg also is passionate about healthcare policy and serves as a Member of the Task Force on Health Care Costs and Quality for the Colorado Medical Society.

A Colorado native, Dr. Mahlberg received his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Boettcher Scholar. After earning his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, he trained and served as Chief Resident in dermatology at the New York University Medical Center (NYU), one of the nation’s top academic dermatology centers. Dr. Mahlberg continued his training in Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery and laser surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.
