Education & Training
During the summers while in college, she worked in the laboratories of McDonnell-Douglas-Astronautics – MDAC – and was hired as a chemical engineer upon her college graduation in March 1980. She worked on projects for the space shuttle, as well as the previous space payload rocket – the Delta Rocket. In September 1980, She entered the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical School, graduated with honors and was awarded membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical honor society. Next came an Internal Medicine Internship and Dermatology residency, both at UCLA, where Dr. Healey was appointed Chief Resident in Dermatology in her final year of Residency.
In July 1988, she passed the Nation Board exam and joined her current group, Dermatology Associates Medical Group in Beverly Hills, CA.Dr. Healey has continued to teach dermatologic surgery to the UCLA Dermatology Residents for the past twenty years and received an award for outstanding teacher in 1992-1993. In addition, she has given talks about Dermatology topics to both physicians and laypersons. Dr. Healey has continued to learn about new techniques and technologies in Dermatology, and her practice includes not only general Dermatology and dermatologic surgery, but also the use of lasers, Botox injections, sclerotherapy and collagen injections.
