Dr. Ronald Johnston, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist providing care to patients in the Miramar Beach, Florida area at Advanced Dermatology and Skin Care Center.

Dr. Johnston has also served as Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine since 2011.

Dr. Johnston is the author of an international dermatology textbook in 2012, Weedon’s Skin Pathology Essentials, and numerous articles in peer review journals over the years.

What is an AK?
An actinic keratosis is considered a pre-cancerous lesion since a small percentage of these lesions over time may develop into a skin cancer, usually a squamous cell carcinoma.
