Education & Training

Dr. Sowmya I. Kishor was raised in Yorktown, Virginia. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University and received degrees in biology and chemistry as well as a minor in philosophy. She received her medical degree in 2003 from the Medical College of Virginia. She then completed her dermatology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. During her residency she was awarded the opportunity to participate in a mentorship program at the National Institute of Health (NIH). She also was active in community outreach projects and worked to get free dermatological care to the uninsured patients in Norfolk.

Prior to joining Palm Beach Dermatology she participated in a fellowship at St. Johns Institute of Dermatology (St. Thomas’ Hospital) in London where she focused on photodermatology and photobiological research.
