About Dr. Gail Westhoven, MD

Gail Westhoven, MD is a board-certified dermatologist providing medical and cosmetic dermatology care to patients in the Birmingham area at Associated Dermatologists.

Dr. Westhoven is a Birmingham native and has spent most of her life in the area. After graduating from Vestavia Hills High School, she attended Auburn University from which she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Dr. Westhoven then completed her medical degree (MD) with honors at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She then completed her dermatology residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. In 1999, she returned to Birmingham where she joined Dr. Larry Sampson in his longstanding practice, Associated Dermatologists.

Dr. Westhoven is Past President of the Alabama Dermatology Society where she has also served as Secretary and Vice president. Professional Affiliations
