A native of the Chicagoland area, he received his medical degree from Northwestern Medical School and completed residencies in internal medicine at Harvard University and dermatology at the University of Maryland, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at the Dermatologic SurgiCenter in Philadelphia and a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a clinical instructor at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine.
