About Dr. John Cox, MD
Dr. John Cox joined the Mohs Surgery and Dermatology Center in 2008, and is Board Certified in Dermatology. We are very pleased he decided to join the Mohs Surgery and Dermatology Center, bringing with him over thirty years of experience in the field of Dermatology. Dr. Cox originally had his own Dermatology practice in Elgin and Hoffman Estates before joining our practice.
Dr. Cox earned his MD degree from Indiana School of Medicine in 1967. His Internship was completed at the University of Miami School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami FL. He continued with his Residency at the Department of Dermatology, University of Miami School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Cox served in the Navy, where he was an Attending Dermatologist at the Department of Dermatology, National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Cox is an active member of the Barrington Noon Rotary and volunteers at a not-for-profit clinic. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and traveling.
