About Dr. Patricia Farris, MD
Dr. Patricia K. Farris is a board-certified dermatologist and leader in her field. She has chaired numerous committees and task forces for the American Academy of Dermatology and is an incoming member of the board of directors (2017-2021). Dr. Farris is also an active member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the prestigious American Dermatologic Association.
Dr. Farris is a nationally recognized expert in anti-aging therapies who is known for her holistic approach. She is an expert cosmetic injector and national trainer who teaches others how to utilize the most up to date injection techniques for natural facial rejuvenation. Dr. Farris is an authority on cosmeceuticals and topical skin care and served as editor and contributor to the textbook Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Practice (Wiley Publishing 2014). She has influenced both product development and overall strategic direction by serving as a consultant to cosmetic companies including Revlon, Neutrogena, Nivea, and L’Oreal.
Dr. Farris is known for her interest in the emerging field of nutricosmetics, which explores the role of nutrition and nutritional supplements for improving appearance. In her practice, she uses nutritional approaches to treating conditions like acne and as part of a comprehensive anti-aging treatment regimen.
Her book The Sugar Detox (De Capo Press, 2013) offers a combined nutrition and skin care program designed to prevent premature aging, weight gain, and health problems that are caused by excessive sugar consumption. The Sugar Detox has been featured on Dr. Oz, Access Hollywood Live and Better TV, Great Day Houston, and Sirius XM Doctor Radio.

She received her medical degree and completed residency training in dermatology at Tulane University where she served as chief resident. Dr. Farris is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, International Society for Cosmetic Dermatology, American Dermatologic Association and The Women’s Dermatologic Society. She has more than 30 years of clinical and research experience and is an active member of the teaching faculty at Tulane University.
