About Dr. William Paronish, MD
Dr William Paronish was born and raised within 2 miles of where he currently practices Family Medicine and Geriatrics at the Northern Cambria Medical Center. He went to high school at Northern Cambria in Spangler Pennsylvania where he lettered twice in varsity football as a lineman and three times in Track and Field where he threw the Javelin and Pole Vaulted. He went to college at Penn State University majoring in Biology and graduated Magna Cum Lauda. His medical school training was done at Thomas Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia where he received awards in obstetrics and gynecology. He did his residency in Family Medicine at Latrobe Hospital and has been board certified in Family Medicine since 1985. He became additionally board certified in Geriatric Medicine in 1990 and has remained so to this date. He was certified in Aesthetic Medicine in 2007 thru the IAPAM and currently practices full spectrum Family Medicine/Aesthetic Medicine at the Northern Cambria Medical Center. Dr Paronish is currently on the courtesy staff at Miner's Hospital of Northern Cambria where he had served as an active staff member from 1985-2007 and had served as Chief of Staff for many years. He additionally is on the courtsey medical staff at Altoona Hospital and is an employee of the Altoona Hospital system.
Doc has been happily married to his wife Debra, who also works at the Northern Cambria Medical Center, since June 19th 1982. They have 5 children and a whole bunch of dogs. Dr Paronish is an avid distance runner and competes in 4-5 marathons a year. He runs for an organization called "Miles for Meals" which directly supports Feeding America and Kid's Cafe' with funds raised from the donations of the so many wonderful supporters of Doc's marathons. Doc also is a dedicated hunter, loves to work in his garden and orchards and lives to Fly fish.
Doctor Paronish loves aesthetic medicine. He takes great pride in being able to help his patients look and feel the way they want to-youthful and refreshed. He finds great enjoyment in being able to improve or correct physical deformities such as scars from acne, accident, or surgery and his patients appreciate the results. He understands that in aesthetic medicine there is a very great need for practitioner honesty and ethics in addition to skill and training and he prides himself when he is able to bring all those things to the exam room when he consults with his Aesthetics patients. As an extension of his Primary Care practice at the Northern Cambria Medical Center Doc created Evolution Medical Spa where he practices full spectrum Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine.
