Dr. Wallach practiced dermatology and aesthetic surgery in New York before relocating to California in 2001. He is board-certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery and is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a consulting physician at the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California.

Dr. Wallach is a graduate of the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Cornell Medical Center and Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. His advanced, postgraduate dermatologic training was accomplished at New York University, widely regarded as the premier dermatology residency program in the United States.
