Dr. Vierra graduated from Virginia Tech with a mechanical engineering degree. While working as an engineer in a biomedical device firm in New York, she became interested in clinical medicine. She then attended Penn State Medical School and completed her medical internship at the University of California San Diego (UCSD).
Dr. Vierra then completed her dermatology residency at UCSD, where she served as the Chief Resident. During her residency, she trained extensively at UCSD Medical Center, the VA Medical Center in La Jolla and Rady Children’s Hospital.
