About Dr. Joel Herron, MD
Joel Herron, MD is a board-certified Columbus dermatologist and Mohs surgeon providing medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology care to patients at Northeast Dermatology.
Dr. Herron's clinical focus is on general dermatology, skin cancer treatment and reconstruction, cosmetic surgery, laser surgery, and facial aesthetics and rejuvenation.
Dr. Herron received academic scholarships to attend the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where he received his Bachelor's of Science and medical degrees, respectively. He then completed his Internship at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Internal Medicine and Dermatology Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Joel Herron then completed two additional years of Fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Laser Surgery, Dermatologic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery in Columbus, OH.
Dr. Herron has published multiple medical articles in professional publications including The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, The Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The Archives of Dermatology, Cutis, Skin & Aging, etc. He has also lectured at national dermatology conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS).
