Education & Training

Dr. Watnick graduated with honors from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1983. Her undergraduate degree was from the University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy, where she graduated with honors. She completed her Dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital, where she was chief resident in her final year.

She continued on staff at Henry Ford West Bloomfield for six years, where she was the director of the Dermatology clinic. During her 28 years on staff at Beaumont, Royal Oak, she has been involved in resident lectures and teaching.

Dr. Watnick has been on the board of the Michigan Dermatological Society for 15 years, serving in many capacities including President. She has been the chairperson of the Legislative Affairs Committee for 11 years, during which time she worked with Legislators in Lansing, most prominently on Tanning Parlor Laws. She spearheaded the legislation that requires parental consent for minors to use tanning beds.
