About Dr. Kevin Kiene, MD

Dr. Kiene began practicing dermatology in the Reno/Carson City area in 1995. In August of 1996, Dr. Kiene, Dr. Rowe, and Dr. Blackhart became partners in Skin Cancer and Dermatology Institute.

Dr. Kiene is one of only three fellowship trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeons in Northern Nevada. Mohs Micrographic Surgery is a procedure that insures higher cure rates for basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma by taking the least amount of tissue necessary to clear the margins. In addition to specializing in Mohs, Dr. Kiene also practices general dermatology.

Dr. Kiene graduated with his Medical Doctoral degree from UCLA School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his internship at UCLA San Fernando Valley and his dermatology residency from the UCLA Combined Dermatology Program in Los Angeles. His one-year fellowship in Moh’s micrographic surgery was completed at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
