About Dr. Salar Hazany, MD
Dr. Salar Hazany strives for excellence in all aspects of his practice. His meticulous attention to detail complements his ability to establish a personable and trusting relationship with his patients to provide exceptional dermatologic care.
Dr. Hazany is a board-certified dermatologist who is originally from Los Angeles, California. A summa cum laude graduate in Neuroscience from UCLA, Dr. Hazany went on to graduate at the top of his class from the prestigious UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Hazany was the recipient of several highly sought after merit scholarships and awards from the Mayo Clinic and the National Institutes of Health and was chosen to complete a year of general surgery training with a focus on plastic surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Hazany continued to focus on medical dermatology and further build his solid skill set in cosmetics at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he served as Chief Resident from 2013-2014.
Given his artistic eye and love for dermatologic surgery and cosmetics, Dr. Hazany decided to travel to Houston to work at the Houston Methodist hospital and continue his training in Mohs Micrographic surgery, cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery with Dr. Leonard Goldberg.
Dr. Hazany’s research interests have led to the publication of multiple scientific articles and book chapters in the fields of facial plastic surgery and dermatology. He is a two-time winner of the Cosmetic Surgery Forum best oral presentation.
Dr. Hazany has a reputation to be very well versed in all dermatologic and surgical facets of the field and is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Hazany customizes his approach to each patient and regularly takes the time to discuss all options and answer all questions in detail. He is frequently complimented for his confidence, considerate care to the patient need and comfort, and gentle pain-free touch.
