Lisa graduated from University of Texas at Dallas with Bachelor of Science in Biology and later Bachelor of Science of Neuroscience in 2006. After graduation, Lisa worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in Endocrinology at Research Institute of Dallas, then at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the Psychoneuroendocrinology Department, where her work contributed to 2 journal publications. During this time, she also gained clinical experience shadowing physicians and physician assistants. She graduated from the Physician Assistant (PA) Program at Saint Louis University (SLU) in 2014 as a National Health Service Corps Scholar.
After receiving her physician assistant degree and board-certification, Lisa worked as a Family Practice Physician Assistant at Redbird Wellness Clinic in Dallas for 3 years. Lisa was the primary care provider for a medically complex and socioeconomically disadvantaged patient panel. She treated chronic medical conditions like diabetes and hypertension, as well as emphasized preventative aspects of medicine like cancer screenings and vaccines.
