Dr. Paul Dean attended the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) and earned his medical degree 1968. His interests in public health led him to train in epidemiology at the Center for Disease Control after completing a one-year residency in internal medicine. During his time at the CDC, he participated in a variety of epidemic research and public health undertakings. This eventually led him to obtaining a master’s degree in public health from the UCLA School of Public Health.
