Eczema of legs on Black skin with erythema and lichenification
Erythema results from vascular congestion and inflammation.
Pigments in skin of color may cause this congestion to appear as colors other
than red such as gray, brown or purple. If you look only for redness you
may miss the diagnosis or underestimate disease severity.
